PlaySparks (“the app”) is a personal activity-browsing app for parents and caregivers, developed by Elizabeth Tan. Your privacy matters, and the app is built so that your information stays on your own device. This policy explains what that means.
- PlaySparks does not require an account, login, or email address.
- PlaySparks does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal information.
- Everything you create — your child’s profile, saved activities, notes, and photos — is stored only on your device and is never uploaded to us or anyone else.
- PlaySparks contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking.
Information the app stores on your device
When you use PlaySparks, the app may store the following locally on your iPhone, inside the app’s private storage:
- Child profile — the name and date of birth you enter for your child, and (optionally) a profile photo or an illustrated avatar you choose. This is used only to personalise the app and show age-appropriate context. It is never sent to the developer.
- Saved activities — the activities you mark with the heart.
- Personal notes — any notes you write on an activity.
- Photos — any photos you add to an activity, whether taken with the camera or chosen from your photo library.
This information stays on your device. It is not sent to the developer, not stored on any server, and not shared with any third party. If you delete the app, this information is removed with it.
Photos and your photo library
If you choose to add photos, PlaySparks asks your permission to access your photo library or camera. This is handled by iOS.
- You can grant access to all photos, only selected photos, or none.
- Photos you add are copied into the app’s private on-device storage so they can appear on your activities.
- PlaySparks does not upload your photos, does not copy them back into your photo library, and does not access photos other than the ones you choose to add.
Information the app does NOT collect
PlaySparks does not collect or process:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or contact details.
- Your location.
- Usage analytics, event tracking, or behavioural data through any third-party service.
- Any advertising or cross-app tracking identifiers.
Analytics and crash reporting
PlaySparks does not include any third-party analytics or crash-reporting software.
If you have enabled Apple’s own “Share With App Developers” and “Share iPhone Analytics” settings on your device, Apple may share aggregated, anonymised crash and usage statistics with the developer through Apple’s App Store and TestFlight systems. This is controlled entirely by Apple and by your device settings, does not identify you, and can be turned off at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements on your iPhone.
Sending feedback
If you choose to use the “Send feedback” option, the app opens a feedback form hosted by a third-party form service (Tally) inside an in-app browser window. Anything you choose to type into that form is submitted to that service so the developer can read your feedback — it is not stored on your device, and it is entirely optional. You are not asked to sign in, and the app does not attach your identity to the feedback. If you would rather not use a third-party form, simply don’t submit it.
Links to other websites
Some activities include a “Source” link to the original idea on another website. If you tap one, you leave PlaySparks and open that website in your browser. Those websites have their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
Children’s privacy
PlaySparks is designed to be used by parents and caregivers, not operated by children. The app does not require an account and does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. Any photos or notes you add remain on your device under your control.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy — for example, if a future version adds cloud backup or an account — this policy will be updated, and the new effective date will be shown at the top.
